Bennie Hughey Walker was born in Parkdale, Arkansas to the union of Arthur and Lovie Slaughter-Walker on October 27, 1935. He was the eighth of eleven children. His parents, two sisters and eight brothers preceded him in death.  

Bennie confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. He was a member of Spring Hill AME Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Curtis Huey. He attended school in the Spring Hill Community. He graduated from Carver High School in Stephens, Arkansas.

Bennie served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received an honorable discharged.

He was a kind and giving person always lending a helping hand to those in need and greeted one with a smile. 

He was employed by Southern Aluminum Company in Magnolia and he retired.

The “storm is over” God called Bennie to eternal rest on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his home. 

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, Five sisters: Opal Dandridge (Cornell) of Rockford, IL., Hazel Sanders and Victoria Hardy of St. Louis, MO., Mildred Rhodes & Mary (Rev.Benjamin) Thomas of Camden, AR; Three brothers: Edward Walker of Los, Angles, CA., Clyde(Stein)Walker; Earl (Edna) Walker of Camden, AR. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives and Special friends: Rosemary Smith and Eanda Cooper.
