Obituary

Calvin Junior Pace, at the tender age of 80, made his transition to his final resting place on October 15, 2013. He was born June 16, 1933, to the late Roosevelt Pace and Nellie Frazier of McNeil, AR.

Calvin united in marriage to Virginia (Virgie) Morehead on January 18, 1963. From this union, they birthed four children. He attended the Early View school district and later went to have careers with a sawmill company in Liberty, TX, a Pulp Wood business, and finally settling at Elk Roofing from which he retired. At an early age, he joined Early View AME Church in McNeil, AR where he became a steward. He was a proud member all of the years he served there. Calvin was loved by all who knew him. He took great pleasure in spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Everyone who spent time with him enjoyed his company, light-hearted laugh, and wisdom he shared from the many years he walked this earth.

Calvin will be missed by his wife, Virgie of McNeil, AR; his sons: Donnell Pace of El Dorado, AR, Donald Pace of Stephens, AR, and Marcus (DeMetria) Pace of Savannah, GA; his daughters: Melody Pace of McNeil, AR, Mary Harper of McNeil, AR, and LuShearin (James) Buttler of Milwaukee, WI; his brothers: Raymond Pace of McNeil, AR, and Milton (Dorothy) Atkins of McNeil, AR; and his sister: Verda Buffington of Little Rock, AR; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Fred Watson, Clyde Jones, and John Henry, and his sisters: Mildred Cornelius, Gracie Mae Dunn and Betty Rowe.
