Galvester L. Beene was born June 4, 1932 to the late Ike Lane and Ella Mae Lane. Galvester was one of eleven children.  

Galvester was preceded in death by her parents,one (1) brother: Jerry Lane and two (2)sisters: Annie Edwards and Minnie Thomas.

Galvester accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age to Ward’s Chapel C.M.E. Church and was active as a Missionary leader and a faithful choir member until her health failed. She attended school in the Forest Grove Community and later attended McMitchell School.  

Galvester was employed by Haynesville Elementary School as a cook and retired after twenty years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to make coffee for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking meals for her love ones. Her children and grandchildren were her heart and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She had unconditional love for everyone.

Galvester was united in holy matrimony to U.T. Beene and to this union ten (10) children was born.

On December 15, 2014, sister Galvester departed her earthly home at Home Memorial Hospital and entered into eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memories: U.T. Beene (Husband) and ten (10) children:Sudie Beene, Claude (Debbie) Beene, James Beene, Tommie Beene, Charles (Linda) Beene, Dawson (Linda) Beene all of Haynesville, LA; Douglas (Cathy) Beene of Arcadia, LA; Ureka Beene of Haynesville, LA; Willie Beene of Shongaloo, LA; Arthur (Shanda) Beene of Haynesville, LA; two (2) brothers: Royce (Bennie) Lane and Clarence (Mary) Lane; five (5) sisters: Odessa Green, Kayvester Lane, Joyce Copeland, Annie Vera Pickens, Mandy Williams; twenty-five (25) grandchildren, twenty-three (23) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
