OBITUARY

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble. Psalms 46:1

Sister Gwenette Jefferson was born on June 2, 1969 in Magnolia Hospital to Mr. Otis Jefferson and Sis. Vernell Doss Jefferson in Magnolia, AR.

Gwen joined Homes Near Baptist Church in Magnolia at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. T.M. Simpson.  She also served under Rev. O.D. Woods and Rev. T.D. Ellis.  She was very active with the youth department of her church and served faithfully with the youth of the Columbia District Association.  Gwen was secretary of the Columbia District Youth Department for many years.  She was faithful and was known for her quiet spirit and with her beautiful ostentatious smile.  She was dedicated and worked until her health failed.

She attended the Magnolia Public Schools and graduated in 1988.  She furthered her education at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia nd received her degree in Political Science 1992.  In 1994, Gwen did a summer in Political Science at Texas Christion University.

Gwen loved reading, watching movies, being on the computer and talking with her close friend Lawrence Schreiber.  She was an "avid" reader with the Bible being one of her best books.

There were two special individuals who were inspirational in Gwen's life:  Sis. Stellar Sharp and Mr. Lawrence Schreiber, whom she was engaged to be married.

She departed this life on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at University of Arkansas Medical Science (UAMS) in Little Rock, AR.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Otis Jefferson and Vernell Doss Jefferson.

She leaves to cherish her memories:  One brother, James Jefferson of Little Rock, AR; Five aunts, Daisy Young (Walter), Magnolia, AR; Dessie Rene Biddle (Charles), Texarkana, AR; Willie Mae Johnson (Frank), Los Angeles, CA; Bobbie Genell Simpson, Lancaster, CA; Amaza Doss, Dallas, TX; Three great-aunts: Lenora Fagget, Dallas, TX; Willie Mae Doss-Green, McNeil, AR and Ruby Doss, Magolia, AR and a host of cousins and friends.
