James Henry Cross was born February 15, 1943 to the late Mr. Melvin Cross and Mrs. Elnora Cross. He passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his home after a decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family.

He was raised in the Macedonia community of McNeil, where he joined the church and was baptized at an early age. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in McNeil. He served as a deacon, a member of the Brotherhood, a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, the President of the Male Chorus and Youth Department. He sang in the senior choir and male chorus. He loved Macedonia and was a faithful supporter of all departments.
He graduated from McNeil Southside High School. He served in the United States Army.
He worked for Sears until retirement. He had many hobbies including fishing and hunting. He served on the school board at both McNeil School District and Stephens School District.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Dennis Cross, his brothers: Arthur Junior Cross, Hurlen Cross, Napoleon Cross, and a sister: Erma Jean Paschal.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda Cross, one daughter, Shelia (Kevin) Fauntleroy of North Carolina and one son, Patrick Cross of Magnolia AR. One brother: Vurlen Cross (Linda) of Los Angeles, CA, sisters, Maxine Carter and Ruby Jewel Batts Adair of Magnolia, AR. Grandchildren: Kevin Jr. and Madison Fauntleroy of North Carolina. Sister-in-laws: Roslyn Cross of Chillicothe, OH, Myrtle Cross of Magnolia, AR, Bobbie Jackson (James) of Houston, TX and Gracie Jackson of Magnolia, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
