         Obituary

Bro. Melvin McDaniel was born on September 16, 1920, in Mt. Holly, Arkansas, to the late Will McDaniel and Allie Pascal McDaniel. After 94 years of life, he quietly slipped away to be with the Lord on October 11, 2014, at Timberlane Health and Rehab Center in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Melvin united with the Friendship Baptist Church in Mount Holly, Arkansas, at a very young age. He served as a trustee, custodian, and was the father of the church.

Melvin was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Beatrice Moore McDaniel on October 21, 1939. To this union five children were born. A daughter, Florence Arnold, preceded him in death. He was also preceded by a grandson, Ray Arnold; three sisters: Reder Davis, Geneva Wilbourn, and Ester Childress; two brothers: L.C. McDaniel and Norah McDaniel.

He leaves to cherish his memories two sons: Willie McDaniel of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Melvin McDaniel, Jr. (Margaret) of Texarkana, Texas; two daughters, Eddie Mae Lee of El Dorado, Arkansas and Bobbie Moore (James) of Magnolia, Arkansas; one sister, Catherine Jones of Grand Rapids, Michigan; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy McDaniel of Little Rock, Arkansas and Cathy Lewis of San Francis, California; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
