The Scroll of Life

Her Departure:

Ora Lee Strickland, the daughter of the late Jake and Mary Rhodes was born on March 16, 1921 in Stephens, Arkansas. She was the oldest of six children. Ora departed this life in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

Her Church Life:

As a child she joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She married the late Willie D. Strickland October 23, 1938 and moved to Camden, AR. Six children were born. One preceded her in death, Roy Lee Strickland.
She was baptized with the Holy Ghost in 1947 under the leadership of the late Pastor, Supt. Harry Brown of Brown Temple COGIC. She served as the president of Y.P.W.W. for 7 years, president of the Mother Board and Sunday school teacher for many years. She served where she was needed and loved the Lord and the Church. 
While living in Dallas the last four months, she attended Faith Memorial Church of God in Christ.

Her Family:

She was a loving mother of six children who love and cherish their memories of her. Joe Willie Strickland (Barbara) Lithonia, GA, Cleven Strickland (Doris), Camden, AR, Mary L. Moore (Archie) Dallas, TX, Cedric Strickland (Judy) Stephens, AR, Beverly Parker (Marvin) Plano, TX

She also leaves to cherish her memory 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, three sisters; Maudie Torrence and Bertha Wilburn of Los Angelas, CA Wilma Willis of Las Vegas, Nevada and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
