Queen Victoria Mitchell (Ma Queen) was born December 12, 1923 to the late Mr. Tom and Mrs. Letha Kelley in Strong, AR. She was a resident of ElDorado for 60 plus years.
She was a member of the Lee Chapel Methodist Church for over 30 years where she worked faithfully until her health failed.
She was married the late Mr. Lonnie Mitchell, who was a successful business man in the city of ElDorado on February 16, 1970, to this union no children were born. Queen worked faithfully by her husband's side in owning and operating the family's Restaurant and Apartments in ElDorado, AR. She also worked as a professional Cook and Seamstress.
Queen was a wonderful woman, a caring wife, mother, sister, and a friend to all. She made time for anyone and everyone. She was talented, imaginative, and creative. Her creations ranged from prom dresses, Halloween costumes, quilt designs, hats, decorating cakes, and anything one could imagine. She always found time to attend to her passions-cooking in her kitchen and at various restaurants kitchens. Family dinners were unimaginable gourmet feast. She was a "Mrs. Fix-It," reparing anything that needs repairing, broken lamps, door locks, vacuum cleaners-she mastered them all. She possessed a courageous spirit a radiant smile and a deep devotion for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, Mrs. Emma Green and one godson, McArthur Green.
She leaves to remember and continue her legacy: four Godchildren, Benny Jones of ElDorado, AR, Alethea Morgan Doss of Magnolia, AR, Kelvin Green of Ft. Launder Dell, FL, Doyle Green of Magnolia, AR and Roy Green of Tempe, AZ; nine Grand-Godchildren, Gina Jones (Fred) of Jacksonville, AR, Tina Harris (Lee Otis), of Bryant, AR, Tony Jones of Jacksonville, AR, Kydra Meeks Jones, Christopher Meeks Jones, April Henderson Jones all of ElDorado, AR, Brandon Jones of Atlanta, GA, Jermaine Singleton (Kizzy) of Bernice, LA, Christopher Blackman of Arcadia, LA, Whitney Morgan, Roderick Doss (Tasha) and Myron Morgan all of Magnolia, AR; seven step-children, a dear friend, Lois Meekins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
