Obituary

Helen Lewis was born March 19, 1949, to the parentage of the late Reverend H.S. McGraw, Sr. and Sister Mary Francis McGraw in Magnolia, Arkansas. She was one of five children born to this union. In the early morning hours of Thursday, September 8, 2022, Helen transitioned to a new and permanent address with the Sovereign God.

Helen began her education career in the Magnolia Independent School District where she received her high school diploma from Columbia High School. After high school she became interested in the nursing field; that developed her passion for caring for people. She matriculated from Southern State College (now SAU) with a BS in Nursing, Helen enjoyed and thrived in this well-suited field for over 40 years, where she performed her duties very well in hospitals in Phoenix, Arizona while residing there. Later Helen and her family returned to Magnolia, where she continued her career in nursing at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center until she retired to care for both her elderly parents until their demise.

Helen met her loving husband, Eugene Lewis while they were students at Southern State College. They were the proud parents of four sons. They both loved and spent a lot of time nurturing their family.

Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband Eugene on May 18, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Tommie McGraw and Emmett McGraw; and a nephew: Richard McGraw.
