Jackie Jean McBride

Jackie Jean McBride was born on July 23, 1947, to the parents of Hosie Lee (Jack)
McBride and Martha Anthony McBride in Magnolia, AR. He was the oldest of eight (8)
children.
Jackie Jean, affectionately known as Sugar Bear, entered into eternal rest on Friday,
July 28, 2023, in St. Matthews, South Carolina.
He attended Walker Magnolia School. Jackie was self-employed for many years in the
Pulp Wood business. In his later years, he was employed with Hixson Lumber in
Magnolia.
In 2015, after suffering a stroke, he moved with his son, Stacy, who had dual residency
in Jacksonville, FL and Chesapeake, VA. Then on to South Carolina after his son’s
retirement from the US Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Hosie Lee (Jack) McBride and Martha
Anthony McBride; two brothers, Chester McBride, and Michael Clark McBride; a
daughter-in-love, Mrs. Lucretia Hunicutt McBride; and a grandson, Mr. Michael ”Lil Mike”
McBride.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two (2) sons; Stacy (Nichele) McBride of
Orangeburg, SC and Michael Jean McBride of Magnolia, AR; special daughter, Maria
(Tommy) Chapel of Magnolia, AR; two (2) grandsons, Kedrick McBride of Magnolia, AR
and Brandon Brown of Chesapeake, VA; two (2) granddaughters, Khadeja McBride of
Magnolia, AR and Brittany Brown of Norfolk, VA; two (2) great grandsons; Ace and
Deuce; two (2) great granddaughters; Falynn and Kynslee; four (4) brothers, Eddie D
(Anita) McBride of Los Angeles, CA and Steve (Wanda) McBride of Compton, CA,
Donald Ray McBride and Stanley Claiborne of Magnolia, AR; two sisters, Martha Sue
(John) Robinson and Florida Jean McBride of Magnolia, AR; special cousin, Mary Jane
(Robert) Dread; special friend, Fannie Bell Scott; special caregiver, Courtney Starke;
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
