Repoleon was born on December 11th, 1946. He served in the Military from November 2nd, 1966 to January 2nd 1969. He went back and served from January 8th 1971 to January 18th, 1974. He was honorably discharged in 1974. Repoleon attended Hope Vocational School where he became a Welder and was the top of his class.
Repoleon had a love for helping others, in particular Veterans just like him. He worked hard day and night helping Veterans even in his final days. On April 1st 2008 he married his beloved wife Mildred of El Dorado, whom he loved and cherished until God called him home. Repoleon loved his family, he would always brag and talk about all of his grandbabies. Whatever they called on him for he never failed to provide. Repoleon was a true man of God. Every morning he’d wake up and the first thing he’d say was “Thank You Jesus for another day”. He taught us no matter what happens in Life THANK GOD! The kindness, care and love he showed to his family and friends will never be forgotten.
Repoleon was proceded in death by his parents Richard and Earnestine Gilbert, siblings James Gilbert, Willie Jean Wilson and Willie James Wilson, and step daughter Melissa Williams.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Mildred Gilbert, Children; Stephanie (Gilbert) Bell of Stone Mountain, GA Marcus Charles Coleman Roquail Keener (Tory), and Preston Gilbert; Step-son Lt. Col. Marlin Williams (Toria); Siblings, Marzell Taylor, Dorothy Porchia, Charles Gilbert, Velma (Leonard) Jamerson, and Arustine Cooper. 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and all of his Veteran friends who were special to him. Funeral service date is as followed below. Rev. Victor Morgan will be the eulogist. Interment will be at the Bethel Cemetery in the Free Hope Community.
