Virda Lee Luckey was born January 14, 1939 in McNeil, Arkansas to the late DeWitt Luckey and Artie M. Jackson.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, McNeil Arkansas. There she was a faithful member until her health declined and relocated to Little Rock.
Virda united in holy matrimony to Hiram Buffington, Jr. She had a son Darrion Buffington and a daughter Kenya Buffington.
For many years, Virda was a well-known seamstress to serving the communities of Stephens, McNeil, Magnolia, Camden, and Waldo, Arkansas. She was employed at the historic Shanhouse factory in Magnolia, Arkansas, until its closure. Later, she devoted her time to caring for family members and providing caregiving services in private homes.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Hiram Buffington, Jr., three brothers Neil, Calvin, and Alvin; and two sisters Betty and Gracie; and a daughter-in-law, Josephine.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son; Darrion Buffington Monticello Arkansas; one daughter; Kenya Buffington Little Rock Arkansas; one brother Raymond Pace McNeil Arkansas; Five grandchildren, Miriam Johnson, Frederick Buffington, Dominic Buffington, Katlynn Buffington, and Kayla Appiah-Kubi; and Five great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Asher, Eliana, Joshua, and Brielle.
